Dr. Kristian Saguin speaks about Philippine small-scale fisheries in Seoul National University



Department of Geography assistant professor Dr. Kristian Saguin presented his research on small-scale fisheries in the Philippines at a forum entitled Geographies of Coastal Livelihoods in Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa in Seoul, South Korea. Organized by Dr. Edo Andriesse of Seoul National University’s Department of Geography, the forum brought together scholars working on various aspects of small-scale fisheries in the Philippines, Thailand, Ghana and Tanzania. Dr. Saguin presented three case studies in Laguna Lake, Batangas and Cavite to illustrate the drivers and challenges that transform fisherfolk livelihood in the Philippines. The forum is part of an interdisciplinary and multi-country research collaboration funded by the National Research Foundation of Korea.
