The Department of Geography, in cooperation with the University of Glasgow, Philippine Geographical Society (PGS) and Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) hosted a public forum and exhibit last July 26, 2019 in Palma Hall, University of the Philippines Diliman. The forum presented the initial findings of the study conducted in Capas, Tarlac and discussed counter-mapping as a research methodology that can be used to highlight the spatial narratives and experiences of marginalized and vulnerable sectors of the community.

The forum was attended by
farmers and indigenous peoples affected and threatened by the ongoing construction
of New Clark City. They expressed their sentiments on New Clark City's impact
on their environment, livelihood, and culture. Members from the academe,
artists, people from the media, students, and individual-advocates also
attended and expressed their concern and support for the affected communities. An
exhibit of the maps and project outputs was also displayed and shown to the
attendees after the forum.
