Hermoso Successfully Defends MS Geography Thesis




Geography graduate student Fernand Francis Hermoso successfully defended his Master of Science in Geography thesis entitled Territo-Reality in Pokémon GO: Augmented Realities and Social Interaction in Ludic Geographies. The defense occurred on January 23, 2019 at the Silangang Palma Rm. 407. 
His thesis committee panel consists of Joseph Palis (adviser), Yany Lopez (critic), Jeanette Yasol-Naval (member), and Felipe Jocano, Jr. (Dean's Representative).

2018 MS Geography Program Orientation

The Geography Graduate Program conducted a graduate student orientation on Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Department of Geography in Silangang Palma. Included in the agenda were the following: background information on the graduate program, graduate school regulations and guidelines, research specializations of the graduate faculty. The achievements of graduate students such as publications, paper presentations in professional  meetings were also presented. Thesis proposal defenses and graduates of the MS program were also noted. A highly interactive discussion followed the orientation before the participants adjourned for drinks and refreshments.

Present during the orientation were graduate faculty members: Prof. Darlene Gutierrez, Prof. Lec. Meliton Juanico, Department Chair Yany Lopez, Asst. Prof. Ma. Simeona Martinez, Asst. Prof. Joseph Palis and Asst. Prof. Kristian Saguin. 




The new graduate and a few continuing graduate students who attended the orientation include Emmanuel Bagonoc, Krystel Capareda, Jennifer Godio, Darlene Mata, Erlan Mendoza, Sealtiel Patino, Christian Saguion and Clark Trovela.
