CSSP Extramural 2018: Maps, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Social Research

The Department of Geography facilitated "Maps, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Social Research," a workshop on the fundamentals of mapping, GIS and geographic data collection. The workshop was part of the 2018 CSSP Extramural for Social Science Teachers held on April 28-30, 2018 at the University of the Philippines Baguio. The two-day workshop focused on providing K-12 and college-level faculty members with the fundamentals of map reading and map creation, introductory GIS processing, and other open source tools for spatially-aware social research. 

The 2018 CSSP Extramural for Social Science Teachers, with the theme "Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methods in the Social Sciences and Philosophy", emphasized on strengthening the capabilities of social science educators and equipping them with thorough knowledge on various research methods employed in the disciplines. The Extramurals featured keynote, plenary, and parallel sessions on various social science research tools and methods.
