The Department of Geography together with representatives from the UP
Legal Office and the Youth Against Sexual Harassment, participated in a Gender
Sensitivity Training conducted by the UPDGO at their office last November 20,
2018.
Pursuant to the UP Anti-Sexual Harassment Code, the training aimed to
mainstream gender awareness and sensitivity, supporting the thrust of the
University to enable a gender-fair, safe and healthy learning and working
environment among all sectors of the UP Diliman constituency. Ms. Kristel May
G. Magdaraog, Assistant Professor Bernadette V. Neri and Atty. Alnie G. Foja
facilitated the training, providing the various frameworks and materials to
help understand existing gender relations. Such will promote a UP community
free of discrimination and safe from any form of violence, abuse or
exploitation regardless of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and
Expression (SOGIE).
The training was attended by Department Chairperson Yany Lopez, Mylene Hazel
de Guzman, Maria Celeste Hermida, Dominique Sasha Amorsolo, Raquel Najja Hao,
Emmanuel Garcia, Marion
Micah Tinio, Joseph Santos Palis and Andre Quiray.
