The UP Department of Geography proudly presents the second Geography Webbynar for the second semester 2021-2022, happening on Monday, 28 March 2022 at 4:30PM. Asst Prof Dr Adem Yulu from the Department of Geography at Iğdır Üniversitesi will give a talk entitled Mountain Tourism: The Case of Mount Ararat.
Located in the extreme eastern portion of Turkey, Mount Ararat not only has a Biblical reputation in the Old Testament, it also carries national and cultural significance in neighboring Armenia.
Subsequent to his PhD, Dr Yulu worked as an assistant professor in the Department of Geography at Iğdır University. In addition, he served as the provincial representative of a foundation that protects the natural environment which carries out various social responsibility projects in rural areas, including the protection of stray animals. He has many works published in different fields such as the city, urban conservation, and tourism. Dr Yulu recently co-authored an article entitled "Evaluation of the Recreational Potential of Mount Ağrı (Ararat) National Park" from the Ege Coğrafya Dergisi (Aegean Geographical Journal) where he and his colleagues utilised the “Gülez Method" to analyse the recreational potential of Mount Ararat.
